I would hazard a guess that these comments would cause distress and/or discomfort to many of the abused chatters. They post racist comments, seemingly from the abused chatters. They harrass chatters and defame them by calling them pedo or slut, depending on the gender of the chatter they are abusing and defaming. They ‘steal’ the nicknames (nicks) of chatters who haven’t or don’t register them and copy the nicks of chatters who have registered their nicks. Two ‘chatters’, a troll known as ‘Cody’ and a troll generally known as Churchill^Bear or bear, violate and abuse this provision of the Terms of Use on an almost minute-by-minute basis when they are in #chatroom. I’ll provide a link to the complete ICQ Terms of Use at the end of this post. YOU WILL NOT: (1) harass, threaten, abuse, defame, embarrass or cause distress or discomfort upon another IrCQ-Net participant Since #chatroom is a public room owned by IRC, that duty falls on the ICQ ChanOps and IRCops. I, for one, have lost all confidence in their ability to be impartial and to do their jobs in anything like a correct manner.ICQ needs a complete ‘housecleaning.’ They better do it soon, before all the good chatters jump ship and chat elsewhere. I’m calling on the owners of ICQ to remove and replace all IRCops and ChanOps. I think ICQ is in desperate need of a major overhaul. He makes it more personal by directing his terrorist attacks against individual chatters. Another chatter who does this sort of terrorist tactic is the infamous Cody, the chatter of hundreds of nicks, very few of them his own. That shows me that that IRCops give in to terrorists, something that no one, whether an individual, a company or a government, should ever do. However, his nick, and presumably the chatter, was seen in #chatroom yesterday, June 22. He is supposed to be banned for life from #chatroom. That means he found a program that joins the room as a chatter, but posts a message over and over very rapidly, in effect making it impossible for others to chat in the room. When he was diciplined by being banned for a while, he responded by ‘flooding’ the room. I’ve already outlined my thoughts about the head IRCop, Libra, in effect, the chief of police. Like the real world, police are frequently corrupt. The people you go to for help when someone breaks the rules. The IRCops in IRC are the ‘police’ in the world of chat. I suggest you look it up in any English language dictionary and see if you agree with me as to whether you think it’s appropriate to use such a word in a public chat room where children as young as 13 years old are welcome to join the chat. I, for one, find the use of this word offensive. Also, while the same ChanOp was present, a ‘chatter’ joined #chatroom with the nick Cuckold. This observer has seen a spammer post his spam repeatedly and the ChanOp present did absolutely nothing. There have been some ChanOps in #chatroom recently. If ICQ would adopt my suggestion and post ChanOps in #chatroom around the clock, they would have the opportunity to become familiar with his style and could kick and ban him on sight. However, the chatter behind Churchill^Bear continues to use his numerous proxies to jump the g-lines and continues to ‘chat’ and troll in #chatroom. Churchill^Bear has had his nick and many variations g-lined. I don’t know if ICQ has finally found a way to keep him out or if he’s just taking a break from trolling in #chatroom. To be completely air to ICQ, the situation in #chatroom has been slightly better recently. Tags: chat, chat rooms, ICQ, ICQ chatroom, IRC Start banning them and at some point in time, he’ll run out. I’d really like to know were the IRCops and ChanOps are hiding? Why don’t they visit #chatroom on a regular basis and remove these trolls? Churchill^Bear has claimed to have 250 IPs. He’s probably some dirt farmer with no life, so he comes to #chatroom to lie, and now, troll. It might come as a surprise to some readers of this blog, but there aren’t any cowboys there. He’s from the state of Washington, in the USA. He’s known to be in his late forties, but he now claims to be in his thirties. He pretends to be a new to #chatroom chatter, but he’s been there for a long time. The chatter known as _cowboy and seabass has joined the ranks of trolls with his new nick, ShiningArmour.
He sure pegs himself right with that last nick he is human garbage. Churchill^Bear continues to troll in #chatroom, using his proxies to bring several ‘chatters’ in and insult and defame other chatters, in DIRECT violation of ICQ’s terms of use. I must report on the status of ICQ’s #chatroom.
